Resumo: The ESG – Environment, Social and Governance agenda is a reality and is at the center of the main debate environmentscorporations today. ESG actions show how much a business is looking for ways to minimize itsimpacts on the environment, to build a fairer and more responsible world and to maintain ethics in administrative processes. Thus, companies are embracing ESG practices as a mandatory aspect of their business strategies at institutional levels (no longer just at tactical and operational levels), adding value to their image and positioning themselves prominently in relation to the market and the public in general. Therefore, ESG practices must go beyond the application of sustainable actions in the socio-environmental and governance spheres, having as a criterion the focus on the quantitative aspect ofresults obtained, generating indicators to help investors make better decisions about the risk and ethics of an organization, and also consumers to decide which company to buy from or not. The portfolio of articles in this edition of RECODAF seeks to converge themes that adhere to the scope of ESG practices, focusing on the context of small producers. This volume contains research results that (i) support the concept of sustainable development, which is the essence of ESG practices; (ii) highlight the need for strategic planning and formalization of governance practices in rural businesses; (iii) present solutions for preserving environmental assets; and (iv) discuss the challenges linked to rural work. The dossier also includes discussions about the role of technology and informational flows as a material support for practices that can be adopted in ESG strategies in the context of Agribusiness.
