The influence of development theories in the sustainable rural debate: From theories focused on progress to sustainability

Resumo: The debate on development, sustainable development and rural development brings with it convergences of ideas, ranging from temporal issues to ideological issues. Therefore, the objective of this research is to make a brief debate on the evolution of this discussion, starting from the idea of development as growth until reaching the most current debate, on development and sustainability. The research is divided into three moments, where, first we bring the main ideas that are linked to development as growth, then territorial development and finally sustainable development and sustainability. We used bibliographic research as a methodology, working with the main theories of development. Development theories have great influence on theories and actions aimed at rural development.

Por tanto, el objetivo de esta investigación es realizar un breve debate sobre la evolución de esta discusión, partiendo de la idea de desarrollo como crecimiento hasta llegar al debate más actual, sobre desarrollo y sustentabilidad. La investigación se divide en tres momentos, donde, primero traemos las ideas principales que se vinculan con el desarrollo como crecimiento, luego el desarrollo territorial y finalmente el desarrollo sustentable y la sustentabilidad. Utilizamos como metodología la investigación bibliográfica, trabajando con las principales teorías del desarrollo. Las teorías del desarrollo tienen gran influencia en las teorías y acciones dirigidas al desarrollo rural.O debate sobre desenvolvimento, desenvolvimento sustentável e desenvolvimento rural, traz consigo convergências de ideias, que vão da questão temporal a questões ideológicas. Diante disso, o objetivo dessa pesquisa é fazer um breve debate sobre a evolução dessa discussão, partindo da ideia de desenvolvimento como crescimento até chegar no debate mais atual, sobre desenvolvimento e sustentabilidade. A pesquisa está dividida em três momentos, onde, primeiro trazemos as principais ideias que estão vinculadas ao desenvolvimento como crescimento, depois o desenvolvimento territorial e por fim desenvolvimento sustentável e sustentabilidade. Utilizamos a pesquisa bibliográfica como metodologia, trabalhando com as principais teorias do desenvolvimento.
