Educational practices related to information literacy in libraries of brazilian federal universities

Resumo: This study aimed to analyze the educational practices related to information literacy improved by libraries incorporated in Brazilian federal universities. For that, an exploratory and documental research with a quali-quantitative approach was carried out, using the content analysis proposed by Bardin. A number of 657 actions of an educational nature were identified. Note that, despite the high number of identified activities, some content such as characterization and evaluation of information sources are not observed in most activities. In addition, the need to integrate educational practices into the students' curriculum was identified. Consider that this project will contribute to the creation of an applicable information literacy program, aimed at the Brazilian context in which libraries and higher education institutions will be based on a theoretical-practical model to assist in information literacy actions.

Para ello, se realizó una investigación exploratoria y documental con enfoque cuali-cuantitativo, utilizando el análisis de contenido propuesto por Bardin. Se identificaron 657 acciones de carácter educativo. Se observó que, a pesar del alto número de actividades identificadas, algunos contenidos como la caracterización y evaluación de fuentes de información no son abordados en la mayoría de las actividades. Además, se identificó la necesidad de integrar las prácticas educativas al currículo de los estudiantes. Se considera que este proyecto contribuirá a la creación de un programa de alfabetización informacional aplicable, dirigido al contexto brasileño en el que las bibliotecas y las instituciones de enseñanza superior se basarán en un modelo teórico-práctico para ayudar en las acciones de alfabetización informacional.Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar as práticas educacionais relacionadas à competência em informação desenvolvidas pelas bibliotecas inseridas nas universidades federais brasileiras. Para tanto, realizou-se uma pesquisa exploratória e documental com abordagem quali-quantitativa, utilizando-se a análise de conteúdo proposta por Bardin. Identificou-se um quantitativo de 657 ações de cunho educacional. Observou-se que, apesar do alto número de atividades identificadas, alguns conteúdos como caracterização e avaliação de fontes de informação não são abordados na maioria das atividades. Além disso, identificou-se a necessidade de integrar as práticas educacionais ao currículo dos discentes.
