Resumo: | This work aimed to map the digital curation actions, which include the active management and preservation of information, in the virtual library Community Virtual Librarian (CVL) of the Second Life environment (SL), the project called Internacional Virtual Worlds Database, which aims to categorize, describe, preserve and make communities in the virtual world more publicly accessible. This is an exploratory and bibliographic research. Data collection was carried out by direct immersive observation in the SL environment by the authors, as well as by applying a questionnaire to the virtual library manager who also manages the referred project. From the information collected, based on the Digital Curation Center (DCC) life cycle model, the actions already carried out in the library that can contribute to the digital curation of existing objects in this environment were mapped. As a result, it was possible to observe that the implementation of the stages of digital curation are already related to the activities of the observed virtual spaces. However, these activities are incomplete and need to be better planned, formalized / documented, in order to guarantee the preservation of the existing information in the virtual world in an integral, reliable and lasting way. It is hoped to be able to collaborate with the reflection on the need for management and preservation of information in virtual libraries. |

Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências2020-06-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/article/view/999010.36311/1981-1640.2020.v14n2.08.p151Brazilian Journal of Information Science: Research Trends; Vol. 14 No. 2 - abr-Jun (2020); 151-172Brazilian Journal of Information Science: Research Trends; Vol. 14 Núm. 2 - abr-Jun (2020); 151-172Brazilian Journal of Information Science: research trends; v. 14 n. 2 - abr-Jun (2020); 151-1721981-1640reponame:Brazilian Journal of Information Scienceinstname:Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP)instacron:UNESPporhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/article/view/9990/6535Brito, Raissa CarneiroVidal, Fabiano Cesar MendoçaSiebra, Sandra AlbuquerquePinho Neto, Júlio Afonso Sá deinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-01-04T19:40:25Zoai:ojs.revistas.marilia.unesp.br:article/9990Revistahttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/indexPUBhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/oaibrajis.marilia@unesp.br||1981-16401981-1640opendoar:2022-01-04T19:40:25Brazilian Journal of Information Science - Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP)false |
