The governmentality and the debate on local policies and violence prevention: a brief report

Resumo: The present article intends to analyze as: local policies of public security are socially constructed; is being defined and implemented the role of municipalities; the various actors involved enable a dialogue on the subject. Thus, trying to understand and implement a short report of an event the federal government on the design of policies for public safety. The study of the concept of governmentality in Michel Foucault contributes to analyze the appearance of the imperative force of the state as the behavior of men in public space in question.
