Resumo: Writing this presentation proves to be a more difficult task than it may seem at first glance. On December 4th of this year we suffered an irreparable loss. Our friend and companion Odirlei Dias Pereira passed away at the age of twenty-seven, leaving his acquaintances, colleagues, friends and family sadly missed. Odirlei built his academic career at the Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences at UNESP (Marília), where he entered the undergraduate program in 2002, and the Postgraduate Program in Social Sciences in 2006. He was one of the founding members of the Study and Research Group in Literature and Cinema da casa, he was passionate about Brazilian cinema, and his master's thesis deals with this theme, as we can see from the text that follows: his favorite chapter, a beautiful and consistent analysis of the film Luar do Sertão (BR, 1970) by Osvaldo de Oliveira. Always busy, our friend had an incredible zest for life. He was a dedicated companion, always willing to help his friends and couldn't bear to see anyone sad. Revista Aurora, through its Special section, pays homage to this determined and competent young intellectual, publishing one of the chapters of his master's thesis defended in October 2008. This tribute is marked by nostalgia, but as Odirlei himself would say to everyone who wanted to hear: ?Let's go!?.
