Resumo: This article first explains the theoretical conception of social recognition from the tradition of Critical Theory of the Frankfurt School. In the following, discusses the controversy contemporary between recognition and redistribution, respectively in the formulations proposed by Fraser and Honneth. The following, with the objective to guide the understanding of the State of Right in Neumann coursing through the idea of social control Foucault, looking for drafting a response to sociological question: How is viable the theory of social recognition on a society who the disciplining of bodies is present?

O presente artigo inicialmente explicita a concepção teórica do Reconhecimento Social a partir da Teoria Critica na tradição da Escola de Frankfurt. Em seguida discute a controvérsia contemporânea entre reconhecimento e redistribuição, nas formulações propostas respectivamente por Honneth e Fraser.
