Resumo: The Gramscian concept of passive revolution is an instrument commonly mobilized to understand the political and social reality of Brazil and its tortuous process of “modernization”. In this sense, the present work aims to understand how this concept was used by Luiz Werneck Vianna and Carlos Nelson Coutinho for this purpose. As a methodological procedure, the research started from a documentary analysis of these two references from the gramscian field on the discussion of the concept of passive revolution. Thus, it is considered that the referred concept, as interpreted by Vianna and Coutinho, would demand more modulations that would allow understanding the colonial and dependent character of the Brazilian social and political formation.

Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências2023-06-15info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/aurora/article/view/1493010.36311/1982-8004.2023.v16.n1.p47-60Revista Aurora; v. 16 n. 1 (2023); 47-60Revista Aurora; Vol. 16 No. 1 (2023); 47-60Revista Aurora; Vol. 16 Núm. 1 (2023); 47-601982-80042177-0484reponame:Revista Aurora (Online)instname:Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)instacron:UNESPporhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/aurora/article/view/14930/15896Copyright (c) 2023 Revista Aurorahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDaltoé Assis, Matheus2024-04-03T00:35:05Zoai:ojs.revistas.marilia.unesp.br:article/14930Revistahttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/aurora/indexPUBhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/aurora/oaiaurora.revista@gmail.com||1982-80041982-8004opendoar:2024-04-03T00:35:05Revista Aurora (Online) - Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)false
