Resumo: The objective of this work is to provide some theoretical “lense”, based on some theories of International Relations, through which one can interpret the development of internationalization of companies focused on the development of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). In a context in which the internationalization of firms from emerging countries, especially Brazil, has been growing, and in which undergraduate courses in International Relations have expanded, creating professionals with the ability to work in the business sector, it is important to realize how the matter can be addressed using those traditionally considered the main approaches of IR theories: realism, liberalism and Marxism. We intended also investigate whether the fact that the theories of IR have as a central object of analysis the state and their interactions, limits the use of them for reflections on internationalization of firms and FDI. From this we also seek to reflect on the possibilities and limits of the use of these theories of IR for the theme.

From this we also seek to reflect on the possibilities and limits of the use of these theories of IR for the theme. Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências2014-07-18info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/aurora/article/view/385510.36311/1982-8004.2014.v7n2.3855Revista Aurora; v. 7 n. 2 (2014); 123-140Revista Aurora; Vol. 7 No. 2 (2014); 123-140Revista Aurora; Vol. 7 Núm. 2 (2014); 123-1401982-80042177-0484reponame:Revista Aurora (Online)instname:Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)instacron:UNESPporhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/aurora/article/view/3855/2883Copyright (c) 2014 Revista Aurorahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSouza, Ana Tereza Lopes Marra de2024-04-02T23:37:39Zoai:ojs.revistas.marilia.unesp.br:article/3855Revistahttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/aurora/indexPUBhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/aurora/oaiaurora.revista@gmail.com||1982-80041982-8004opendoar:2024-04-02T23:37:39Revista Aurora (Online) - Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)false
