Resumo: This article focuses at the analysis of how socialism ideology, Marx, Lenin, among others, influenced the Mexican muralist Diego Rivera his life and artwork. The perspective of analysis from our study subject has its base on Dialectical and Historical Materialism. We verified thereby that Diego Rivera was deeply influenced by his political participation, by socialism and communism and that these ideologies are present throughout the entire his life and work.

Este artigo pretende analisar como o socialismo, a ideologia de Marx, Lenin e outros, influenciaram na vida e obra do muralista mexicano Diego Rivera. A perspectiva de análise de nosso objeto de estudo tem por base o materialismo histórico-dialético. Constatamos assim, que Diego Rivera foi influenciado profundamente pela participação política, pelo socialismo e comunismo e que estas ideologias estão presentes ao longo de toda sua vida e obra.
