In an increasingly globalized society the identity issues are highlighted pointing to new fragmented and multiple identities. In this context, is Boa Vista/Roraima, the scene of intense social, cultural and linguistic transformations. This research is based in Hall (2006), Woodward (2000) and Silva (2000)  who discusses the relationship of identity. The aim of this paper is to discuss the relationship between language and identity, and as material for analysis there is an article about the launch of an indigenous CD linked to a newspaper roraimense. Analysing the article, it was possible to notice that, although there is a trend toward indigenous language/cultural homogeneity, it is important to consider that identities are fragmented and multifaceted.
