Marx and the study of the racial issue: elements for an analysis from Latin America

Resumo: In this article I point out some elements about the importance of the theoretical elaborations of Karl Marx and Method of Historical Dialectical Materialism (MHD), for the study of the racial question. Therefore, I situate the battle of ideas around the debates about racism, showing that the dispute goes beyond epistemologies or mere narratives, they are political disputes, of societal projects. It was also necessary to “clear the ground” in relation to Marx and Marxism, in order to make explicit the order of the difficulties in appropriating the MHD in relation to studies on racism. Finally, in view of the Leninist maxim of “concrete analysis of concrete reality”, I make some mediations about the paths necessary to apprehend the complexity of racism in social relations under Latin American dependent capitalism, seeking to clarify the inseparable relationship between racism and overexploitation.

Por tanto, sitúo la batalla de ideas en torno a los debates sobre el racismo, mostrando que la disputa va más allá de las epistemologías o meras narrativas, son disputas políticas, de proyectos sociales. También era necesario “despejar el terreno” en relación con Marx y el marxismo, para hacer explícito el orden de las dificultades para apropiarse del MHD en relación a los estudios sobre el racismo. Finalmente, en vista de la máxima leninista de “análisis concreto de la realidad concreta”, hago algunas mediaciones sobre los caminos necesarios para aprehender la complejidad del racismo en las relaciones sociales bajo el capitalismo dependiente latinoamericano, buscando esclarecer la relación inseparable entre racismo y sobreexplotación.Neste artigo aponto alguns elementos sobre importância das elaborações teóricas de Karl Marx e Método do Materialismo Histórico Dialético (MHD), para o estudo da questão racial. Para tanto situo a batalha das ideias em torno dos debates acerca do racismo, evidenciando que a disputa vai além de epistemologias ou meras narrativas, são disputas políticas, de projetos societários. Também foi necessário “limpar o terreno” em relação a Marx e ao marxismo, de modo a deixar explícita a ordem das dificuldades na apropriação do MHD em relação aos estudos sobre o racismo.
