Resumo: | Access to cameras and magnetic tapes in the 1980s provided a hitherto unprecedented amount of video recordings and narratives on social issues and struggles, in addition to amateur and educational production. Looking at the collection of the Brazilian Association of Popular Video (ABVP) and analyzing one of its items, the video Há Lugar (1987), the text points to a cultural context of emergence of new themes in Brazil at the time, emerging social actors, a particular social dynamic, as well as an effort to use video as an instrument of information, mobilization and memory of the social struggles of that period of democratic opening and intense social mobilization. |
