GEOGRAPHY TEACHER TRAINNING FOR YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION: CONJUNCTURE AND CHALLENGES TO PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE

Resumo: | The training of teachers for the Youth and Adult Education has been the subject of discussion in the most diverse instances. In this perspective, it is evident the need to understand, first and foremost, how this process has taken place in the educational context, above all by the formation of Geography teachers for this modality of teaching. This article aims to discuss and present conceptions and perceptions about the formation in Geography for Youth and Adult Education, and their implications in the pedagogical practices directed to this modality of teaching. From the research carried out in the Master's course, some concerns arise, where, in addition to other issues, the existence of "rites of passage", characterized by the process of becoming, for many different reasons, teacher of the Youth and Adult Education and its developments in pedagogical practice in Geography. It is understood that the present proposal is considered, methodologically bibliographical, from a qualitative approach. Thus, we highlight that, despite the existence of these rites of passage, in addition to the most diverse characteristics that compose them, we also highlight the permanence and development of pedagogical practices that do not meet the specificities of teaching and learning Geography in Youth and Adult Education. We also point out the necessity for a more focused look at the youth and adult education modality in geography undergraduate courses, aiming at a greater articulation and integration between the demands of students and the performance of the geography teacher in that modality. |

En esta perspectiva, podemos evidenciar la necesidad de comprender, antes que nada, como este proceso tiene se efectivado en el contexto educacional, sobre todo por la formación de profesores de Geografía en la modalidad de enseñanza. Este artículo tiene el objetivo de discutir y presentar concepciones y percepciones sobre la formación en Geografía para la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos y sus implicaciones en esta modalidad de enseñanza. A partir de investigación realizada en nel curso de Maestría, surgen algunas preocupaciones, donde, allá de otras cuestiones, percibimos la existencia de “ritos de pasaje”, caracterizados por el proceso de tornarse, por los más diversos factores, profesor de la EJA y sus desdoblamientos en la práctica pedagógica en Geografía. Comprendemos que la presente propuesta es considerada, metodológicamente bibliográfica, a partir del abordaje cualitativo. Así, se destaca que, a pesar de la existencia de muchas características que los componen, se evidencia, también, la permanencia y desarrollos de prácticas pedagógicas que no atienden a las especificidades de enseñar y aprender Geografía en la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos. Todavía, señalamos la necesidad de una mirada dirigida a la modalidad EJA en los cursos de licenciatura en Geografía, objetivando una mayor articulación e integración entre las demandas de los estudiantes y la actuación del profesor de Geografía en la modalidad aludida.A formação de professores para a Educação de Jovens e Adultos – EJA tem sido alvo de discussões nas mais diversas instâncias. Nesta perspectiva, evidencia-se a necessidade de compreender, antes de qualquer coisa, como esse processo tem se efetivado no contexto educacional, sobretudo pela formação de professores de Geografia para essa modalidade de ensino. Este artigo objetiva debater e apresentar concepções e percepções sobre a formação em Geografia para a Educação de Jovens e Adultos e suas implicações nas práticas pedagógicas direcionadas a esta modalidade de ensino. A partir de pesquisa realizada no curso de Mestrado, surgem algumas inquietações, em que, além de outras questões, notou-se a existência de “ritos de passagem”, caracterizados pelo processo de tornar-se professor da EJA e seus desdobramentos na prática pedagógica em Geografia. Entende-se que a presente proposta é considerada metodologicamente bibliográfica, a partir da abordagem qualitativa. Nesse sentido, destacamos que, apesar da existência dos referidos ritos de passagem, além das mais diversas características que os compõem, evidenciamos, também, a permanência e desenvolvimento de práticas pedagógicas que não atendem às especificidades do ensinar e aprender Geografia na Educação de Jovens e Adultos.
