Resumo: The fast spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (New Coronavirus) in Brazil has made the country the epicenter of a health, social and political crisis, reinforcing the exclusionary logic of public policies aimed at indigenous peoples. Focusing on the Assuriní people of the Trocará Indigenous Land, this article aims to analyze how they were affected by the pandemic, and also to highlight the strategies for fighting against the virus. The data analyzed were obtained by means of the netnography, carrying out interviews with two local leaders by using cell phones and WhatsApp. The results indicate that the proximity to the city of Tucuruí, the lack of guidance on preventive measures and access to treatment are factors that contributed to the death of historical leaders, to accentuate the precarious health and food insecurity, and to reinforce the social vulnerability condition of this people, leading them to develop strategies to access food, protect the villagers and their territory.
