Resumo: The objective of this article is to analyze how the three biographers – Jorge Amado (2011), Daniel Aarão Reis Filho (2014) and Anita Leocadia Prestes (2015) – built narratives about the first decades of life of Luiz Carlos Prestes (1898-1990), comparing approaches to family and geographic origins. With that, we tried to reach the following points of approach within the process of construction of Prestes’ biographical memory: the process of belonging to the geographical origin (gaucho identity), the construction of family origins and the ancestry of the subject. For this, within a perspective of biographical and political history, we dialogued with the authors Paul Ricoeur (2010), Sérgio Vilas Boas (2008), Raoul Girardet (1987) and Jorge Ferreira (2002).

Con ello, pretendemos alcanzar los siguientes puntos de aproximación dentro del proceso de construcción de la memoria biográfica de Prestes: el proceso de pertenencia al origen geográfico (identidad gaucha), la construcción de los orígenes familiares y la ascendencia del biografiado. Para ello, desde una perspectiva biográfica y de historia política, dialogamos con los autores Paul Ricoeur (2010), Sérgio Vilas Boas (2008), Raoul Girardet (1987) y Jorge Ferreira (2002).O objetivo deste artigo é analisar como os três biógrafos – Jorge Amado (2011), Daniel Aarão Reis Filho (2014) e Anita Leocadia Prestes (2015) – construíram narrativas sobre as primeiras décadas de vida de Luiz Carlos Prestes (1898-1990), comparando as abordagens sobre as origens familiares e geográficas. Com isso, procuramos alcançar os seguintes pontos de abordagem dentro do processo de construção da memória biográfica de Prestes: o processo de pertencimento da origem geográfica (identidade gaúcha), a construção das origens familiares e a ascendência do biografado.
