Avaliação da motivação de estudantes de medicina em relação às videoaulas de anatomia humana ministradas no curso de medicina da Universidade José do Rosário Vellano (campus Belo Horizonte) no primeiro semestre de 2020

The motivation is a behavior process which is considered to be one of the main determinants of the individual learning achievement. The student who has been accurately motivated has better chance of achieving forward-thinking performance. This study aimed at evaluating the motivation of students of the human anatomy asynchronous video classes, which were carried out during the social isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in the first school semester of the year 2020. The Instructional Materials Motivation Survey questionnaire, on its validated version in Brazil (IMMS-BRV), was used as research instrument to assess the participants’motivation. A number of 211 students were the participates in this study, 143 (67.8%) females and 68 (32.2%) males. The studied academics were enrolled in the first, third and fourth graduation periods of the medical course. The questionnaire was applied at the end of the first half of the year of 2020 by means of google forms application. Female students presented a higher average score in the attention dimension and those who completed another higher education course previously had a higher average score in the expectation dimension of the IMMS-BRV. The findings revealed that the video classes were moderately motivating and very motivating for 72% of the evaluated students. There was greater motivation in students in the first graduation period when compared to those in the third and fourth graduation periods. Female students had a higher average score in the attention dimension and those who completed another higher education course, a higher average score in the expectation of the IMMS-BRV. The remote teaching is a facilitating and motivating technological resource in anatomy classes, enabling the combination of verbal and visual language, qualifying the students to accomplish their continuous learning process
