Resumo: Este artigo articula a leitura crítica do romance O filho da mãe, de Bernardo Carvalho, com algumas questões urgentes da teoria literária hoje, a saber, as relações entre o texto crítico do mundo e o mundo crítico do texto; o problema da voz dos subalternos; e os impasses da crítica frente às demandas do texto ficcional contemporâneo. This article articulates a critical reading on the novel O filho da mãe, by Bernardo Carvalho, to some urgent issues concerning contemporary literary theory, that is, the relations concerning the critical world of the text versus the critical text of the world; the problem of the subaltern, and the critical impasses regarding the demands coming from contemporary fiction.
