Lines of Thought that Influence the Teaching of Environmental Education

Resumo: This study verified that the teaching of environmental education has not escaped from the great narratives: Parmenídica, which influenced positivism, Heraclitean, which influenced the dialectics, as well as the Sophist speech, which is influencing the postmodern discourse. According to the positivist bias, environmental education would be considered naturalistic, and would only aim at intervening in the natural environment. According to the post-modern bias, environmental education would be a way to reconnect man with nature. These currents do not make an internal criticism to the capitalist system. On the other hand, marxist dialectics appears as one of the only sane means of proposing a new environmental education that criticizes the capitalist system and contributes to the building of a new society.

Pelo viés positivista, a educação ambiental seria considerada naturalística, que visaria apenas a intervenções no meio ambiente natural. Para o viés pós-moderno, a educação ambiental seria uma forma de religar o homem à natureza. Essas correntes não tecem críticas internas ao sistema capitalista.
