The genesis of Langean anthropophagy

Resumo: The thought and action of Polish economist Oskar Lange (1904-1965) are presented based on novel research that contextualizes the historical origin of his methodology of how to interact with mainstream economic theory. By taking into consideration his entire path towards a general theoretical system in association to his political praxis, especially its most critical stage as co-organizer of the Polish Popular Republic at the end of the Second World War, we conclude that Lange initiated the construction of a system of his own. It intends to be the totality of economic science and its main characteristic is the absorption of external unfriendly elements to capture their strengths. We call this approach “Langean Antropophagy”, a strategy of struggle against capitalist ideology in economic science which expresses the contradictory, exploratory and unfinished character of his masterpiece, Political Economy. It is in that context that one must analyze his creative liberty within Marxism, since Lange did not think of himself as a rebel free thinker, but as follower of Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Marx, who he considered to be the greatest authority of all times in Political Economy.

Ao levar em consideração todo o caminho de construção teórica de Oskar Lange em associação com sua práxis política, especialmente em sua etapa mais crítica como articulador da República Popular da Polônia no final da Segunda Guerra Mundial, concluise que Lange iniciou a construção de um sistema próprio com pretensões totalizantes para a ciência econômica, cuja característica principal é a absorção de elementos externos para capturar suas forças. Chamamos essa abordagem de “Antropofagia Langeana”, uma estratégia de luta contra a ideologia capitalista na ciência econômica que expressa o caráter contraditório, exploratório e inacabado de sua obra Moderna Economia Política. É sob esse prisma que se deve investigar sua liberdade criativa dentro do Marxismo, uma vez que Lange não se concebia como livre pensador rebelde, mas seguidor de Rosa Luxemburgo e Karl Marx, a quem tinha em consideração como a maior autoridade de todos os tempos no campo da Economia Política.O pensamento e a ação do economista polonês Oskar Lange (1904-1965) são apresentados a partir de uma pesquisa inédita que contextualiza historicamente a origem de sua metodologia de interação com a teoria econômica mainstream.
