Alguns aspectos da construção do gênero entre os Javaé da Ilha do Bananal

Entre os Javaé da Ilha do Bananal, um subgrupo Karaiá, os conceitos de masculinidade e feminilidade são construídos no mitos, rituais e letras de músicas, expressando um ponto de vista masculino, a partir dos contrastes entre identidade e alteridade, consanguinidade e afinidade. Através da dança dos Araunãs, os homens idealizam uma volta a um tempo/espaço mítico não social, em que o tempo é estático, a morte não existe e é possível viver entre si, sem a presença indesejável do "outro", simbolicamente associado às mulheres. Sem "outros", não há relações sexuais ou qualquer outro tipo de perda da energia vital contida no corpo humano. O início da vida em sociedade, para os (homens) Javaé, é visto como o início do relacionamento com os "outros", o que teria levado à abertura dos orifícios corporais e à consequente perda de energia vital, principalmente através das relações sexuais. A perda de energia vital, a passagem do tempo e a morte são associadas ao surgimento de diferentes gêneros e da feminilidade enquanto alteridade. Abstract Among the Javae of the Bananal Island, a Karaja subgroup, the concepts of masculinity and feminility are constructed through myths, rituals and music, from a male point of view. They are based on the contrasts of identity and otherness, consanguinity and affinity. Through the dance of Aruanas, men idealize the return to a mythic and non-social time/space, where time is static, death does not exist and people can live among themselves, without the undesirable "other", symbolically associated to women. Without "others", there are no sexual relations and therefore no loss of the vital energy contained in the bodies. The beginning of life in society is seen by the Javae (men) as the beginning of the relationships with "others", what led to the opening of the bodily orifices and therefore to the loss of vital energy, mainly through sexual relations.
