Resumo: Resumo Quem é a baiana? Não há uma resposta simples para essa questão, mas refletir sobre o Circuito Sexual do Turismo em Salvador pode nos ajudar. As baianas são consideradas as morenas-jambo, por sua cor de pele. Este artigo trata das mulheres negras e como o mercado de corpos interfere na construção de suas identidades, criando sonhos e alimentando as fantasias masculinas sobre a mulher brasileira. Abstract Who is the “Bahiana” (Brazilian Portuguese for “woman from the State of Bahia”, which is in the Northeast of the country)? There is no easy answer to this question. However, some reflection on the “sex tourism circuit” in Salvador might help to find a suitable response. “Baianas” are native women considered to be “morena-jambo” (meaning a woman of dark brown skin color), because of the tonality of their skin. This paper is about black women and how the commodification of their bodies – which creates dreams and feeds men’s fantasies about the Brazilian woman – interferes in the construction of their identities.
