Resumo: | The Cultural Heritage of Amaicha del Valle constitutes the expression of the social, economic, and cultural processes that structured the town and the surrounding territory, making visible the historical transformation of the valley. Four stages are distinguished in territorial development: a) the pre-Hispanic period, b) the colonial period, which was consolidated from the end of the 18th century, with Amaicha being identified as a fiefdom or Indian town, reduction and encomienda, c) the republican period (19th century) during which the community of Amaicha moved from Encalilla, founding, in November 1884, the Villa de Amaicha del Valle and d) the development of the Villa as a tourist town from the end of the 40s in the century XX. Each of these historical stages can be read through its valuable cultural heritage that includes both the system of ditches and the pre-Hispanic traditional corrals or the emblematic buildings of the town. |
