Orchards and gardens in coffee farms: Serra da Bocaina in the Paraíba Valley and Serra da Mantiqueira in southern Minas Gerais State, Brazil

This article intends to show shapes of outer space agency and the immediate surroundings of the farm houses in the regions of the Mantiqueira range in southern Minas Gerais, and in Bocaina the Vale do Paraíba. The samples were collected in the municipalities of Cristina, Delfim Moreira, Don Viçoso, Piranguçu, Wenceslau Brás and Carmo de Minas, in Minas Gerais and São José do Barreiro, Bananal and Areias, em São Paulo. Deployment Inventory Knowledge Rural Heritage, organized by Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) in 2007, having as object the removal of the coffee farms, this article discusses the rural provider of fruits and flowers in the immediate surroundings of the main house, but does not enter the merits of the crops themselves. The organization of these spaces shows how to construct the landscaping as part of the process of appropriation of land and introduction of new habits. In this context, has mainly orchards and gardens of the houses the headquarters of the ranch, with emphasis on the deployment within the nucleus of the farm. By studying them and getting to know the ways of use of rural land, the text points to the recognition and appreciation of heritage, habits and cultural heritage.
