A brief introduction to multimethodology applied to governance and decision aid in socioecological complex systems

Resumo: This paper introduces the multimethodology concept and presents an application showing the benefits of its use in socioecological complex decision contexts. The application involves the combination of three methodologies: (1) MACBETH sociotechnical process decision aid; (2) system dynamics; (3) agent based modelling. The combination of the three methodologies helped the decision makers to assess ex-ante the impact of a policy involving complementary currency. The complementary currency, Sustento, was designed to incentive the Amazonian farmers of Machadinho d’Oeste to reforest their properties.
