Resumo: The article discusses the development of industrial education in Brazil during the first decade of the twentieth century and the relationships and transformations of the architecture used in the spaces. Focused on analysis the Industrial School of Teresina, exposes the origins of activities linked to industrial vocational education, your integration into the national plan by the establishment of decree No. 7,566 September 1909 and the structuring of activities in the buildings over the following decades.  Aiming in a thorough analysis of the project designed in 1950 by architects Renato Soeiro, Thomaz Estrela, Jorge Ferreira e Renato Mesquita to the Industrial School of Teresina in terms of: program, aesthetics, relations between spaces, use of modern architecture and its incidence in national and international specialized publications of period, such as IAB’s magazine Arquitetura e Urbanismo; French magazine L’architecture D’aujourd’hui and the book Modern Architecture in Brazil, by Henrique Mindlin.

Tomando como foco de análise a Escola Industrial de Teresina, expõe-se as origens das atividades ligadas ao ensino profissional industrial, sua integração ao plano nacional pelo estabelecimento do decreto nº 7.566, de setembro de 1909 e a estruturação das atividades nos edifícios ao longo das décadas seguintes.
