Women in rural contexts and Food and Nutritional Cecurity

In rural areas, women do not only carry out domestic work, they also carry out productive activities, but they are not registered and valued in the same way as the activities of men, and therefore are seen as an aid. By splitting up between productive and reproductive work, it enables the reproduction of the family group and the development and maintenance of the patrimony. The objective of this study is to identify the participation spaces of women in productive and marketing activities, in a case study, in the city of Francisco Beltrão-PR and to analyze the reflexes of this activity as a factor that promotes income and, consequently, contributes for the food security of his family. To that end, interviews were conducted at the fair in the central square and at the fair held at the Federal Technological University of Paraná - UTFPR, with 20 women farmers to identify the productive and management activities developed by them and, subsequently, the Brazilian Scale of Food Insecurity - EBIA, which revealed a condition of invulnerability regarding the guarantee of food and nutritional security and the right to adequate food.
