Some notes on cognitive dynamic: inspired by v. Bozickovic’s the indexical point of view

Resumo: Bozickovic’s The Indexical Point of View is a rich and well-argued book in which he raises many interesting questions regarding indexical reference. In what follows I will mainly concentrate on Bozickovic’s neo-Fregean proposal and the criticism he proposes to the Kaplan-Perry theory according to which characters are what help us to handle the cognitive significance problem. Although I think Bozickovic’s account to be accurate, the criticisms he raises against Perry may be dealt with without having to dismiss the Kaplan-Perry framework.

En lo que sigue me centraré principalmente en la propuesta neofregeana de Bozickovic y en la crítica que propone a la teoría de Kaplan-Perry según la cual son los caracteres los que nos ayudan a manejar el problema de la significación cognitiva. Aunque creo que la exposición de Bozickovic es acertada, las críticas que plantea contra Perry pueden tratarse sin tener que descartar el marco de Kaplan-Perry.Bozickovic's The Indexical Point of View é um livro rico e bem fundamentado, no qual ele levanta muitas questões interessantes com relação à referência indexada. No que se segue, vou me concentrar principalmente na proposta neo-francesa de Bozickovic e nas críticas que ele propõe à teoria Kaplan-Perry, segundo a qual são os personagens que nos ajudam a lidar com o problema do significado cognitivo.
