Crenças e práticas culturais: co-construção e ontogênese de valores sociais

O presente artigo aborda as relações entre a dimensão simbólica (ou esfera semiótica) do desenvolvimento humano e as práticas socioculturais (ou atividades) em que construtos pertinentes à dimensão dos processos de significação constituem e são constituídos nos contextos das interações sociais concretas entre os indivíduos. Além disso, enfatiza a necessidade de um estudo científico mais amplo e aprofundado acerca dos processos de sociogênese do desenvolvimento humano. Inclui-se aí a dinâmica dos processos de socialização, tradicionalmente relegados a um plano secundário pela tradição históricocultural, que tem especialmente abordado a dimensão cognitiva, onde se encontram as funções mentais superiores estudadas por Vygotsky, como linguagem, memória e pensamento. Com este artigo, pretendemos sublinhar a relevância da pesquisa, a partir de uma perspectiva histórico-sociocultural, da ontogênese das crenças e valores humanos e das práticas socioculturais que engendram e são engendradas por tais valores: cooperação, competição e individualismo, por exemplo, são temas de interesse. Em poucas palavras, os valores, concebidos como crenças impregnadas de afeto e significação social e subjetiva, precisam ser analisados e melhor compreendidos pela psicologia científica, especialmente considerando a necessidade de esta contribuir de forma mais efetiva para uma transformação política e social na direção de uma sociedade mais democrática e solidária, compatível com os valores humanos de dignidade e justiça.Abstract: This article addresses the issue of the relationships between the symbolic dimension of human development (semiotic sphere) and sociocultural practices (or activities) in which constructs concerning meaning-making processes generate and are generated in the context of actual social interactions among people. The article also emphasizes the need to extend and improve the scientific study of sociogenetic processes that generate human development. There is an urgent need for the scientific analysis of the dynamics of socialization processes, which have traditionally occupied a background position when compared to the study of human cognition from a cultural-historical perspective. This perspective has particularly focused on the study of higher mental functions studied by Vygotsky, such as language, memory and thought processes. Our aim is to highlight the relevance of research, from a historical-sociocultural theoretical approach, on the ontogenesis of human beliefs and values, particularly the study of those cultural practices that give rise to, and are made possible, by the existence of specific values. Cooperation, competition and individualism, for instance, are topics of interest. Values are here conceived as impregnated with strong affection and very significant social and subjective meanings. Values, meanings and practices, therefore, need to be better analyzed and understood by scientific psychology, so that it can more effectively contribute to social and political transformation, which may lead to a more democratic and solidary society, in tune with human values such as dignity and justice.Key words: Sociocultural psychology.
