“Modes of existence" as a theoretical-conceptual device: contributions of Michel Foucault and Étienne Souriau to educational research

Resumo: The study focuses on the field of educational research, discussing the nature of the work of thought through research problems. From Michel Foucault and Étienne Souriau, it approaches the theoretical-conceptual device "modes of existence", highlighting how both authors produce the implication between a thought of the arts and a philosophical thought for the treatment of the issue. The article aims to demonstrate how this procedure confers to the modes of existence a strategic condition of a theoretical-conceptual device, thus overcoming the areas of problematization in which they were forged. Foucault discusses modes of existence from a problematization of subject and experience, suggesting, within the horizon of a radical dis-subjectivation, an experience of impossibility. Souriau discusses modes of existence from a problematization of the aesthetic work, evoking, in this work itself, the singular movements of instauration and unfinished. Because of the treatment of both thinkers on the question of modes of existence, it becomes possible to construct an indissociably political, ethical and aesthetic approach, aspects that activate strategic implications in the field of education and, particularly in the context of research in education, once that a problematization of the modes of existence operates in favor of a problematization of the mode of existence of a problem of investigation.

A partir del pensamiento de Michel Foucault y Étienne Souriau, aborda el dispositivo teórico-conceptual "modos de existencia", destacando cómo ambos pensadores producen la implicación entre un pensamiento de las artes y un pensamiento filosófico en el enfrentamiento de la cuestión. El trabajo busca demostrar cómo tal procedimiento confiere a los modos de existencia una condición estratégica de dispositivo teórico-conceptual, superando así los territorios de problematización en los cuales fueron forjados. Foucault discute modos de existencia a partir de una problematización del sujeto y de la experiencia, apuntando, en el horizonte de una des-subjetivación radical, una experiencia de la imposibilidad. Souriau discute modos de existencia a partir de una problematización de la obra estética, evocando, en el trabajo mismo de esa obra, los movimientos singulares de instauración e inacabamiento. Dado el trato de ambos pensadores a la cuestión de los modos de existencia, es posible emprender un enfoque de naturaleza indisolublemente política, ética y estética, aspectos que activan implicaciones estratégicas en el campo de la educación y, particularmente en el ámbito de la investigación en educación, ya que una problematización de los modos de existencia opera en favor de una problematización del propio modo de existencia de un problema de investigación.O estudo focaliza o campo da pesquisa educacional, discutindo a natureza do trabalho de pensamento frente a um problema de investigação. A partir do pensamento de Michel Foucault e Étienne Souriau, aborda o dispositivo teórico-conceitual “modos de existência”, destacando como ambos os pensadores produzem a implicação entre um pensamento das artes e um pensamento filosófico no enfrentamento da questão. O trabalho busca demonstrar como tal procedimento confere aos modos de existência uma condição estratégica de dispositivo teórico-conceitual, ultrapassando assim os territórios de problematização nos quais foram forjados. Foucault discute modos de existência a partir de uma problematização do sujeito e da experiência, sugerindo, no horizonte de uma dessubjetivação radical, uma experiência da impossibilidade. Souriau discute modos de existência a partir de uma problematização da obra estética, evocando, no trabalho mesmo dessa obra, os movimentos singulares de instauração e inacabamento.
