Human equality projects as prerequisites for a posthuman embrace

Resumo: | The posthuman curriculum is emancipatory, but its emancipatory potential is presently limited. Given current inequalities among humans, movement beyond the human begs the question, “movement beyond which human?” Posthumanist and postcolonial literature at the crux of this conflict is briefly reviewed, and a resolution to the disagreements is proposed: Posthumanists wishing to advance their agenda should consider joining the human equality projects of humanists, such that, in due time, a fuller conception of human may be used as a foundation from which to “post.” This will likely be both more effective and more just. |
