Mathematic practices: socio philosophical contributions for mathematic education

Resumo: | The objective of this study is to understand mathematics as socialpractices, that is, discuss theorically the conception of mathematic practices. Itdeparts from an earlier study that perceives several ways of adjetivizing the termmathematics, such as school mathematics, street mathematics, academicmathematics, popular mathematics, everyday mathematics, and so on,supported by recent academic researches and publications in the field ofMathematics Education. Adjectivizes are understood as differences language games along family resemblances, in the sense given by Wittgenstein to theseconcepts.Sociological concepts developed by Bourdieu are incorporated to thisphilosophical explanation. His conception of science is a reference tounderstanding mathematics as social practices, in which lies a situationist logicthat determines specific mathematic norms and patterns. |

O intuito deste estudo consiste em compreender as matemáticas como práticas sociais, ou seja, em elaborar teoricamente a concepção de práticas matemáticas. O ponto de partida é um estudo anterior, em que se observa a ocorrência de diversas adjetivações da palavra matemática em publicações e pesquisas acadêmicas recentes da área da Educação Matemática. As adjetivações são interpretadas como diferentes jogos de linguagem, com as devidas semelhanças de família, no sentido dado por Wittgenstein às expressões. Acrescenta-se à leitura filosófica das adjetivações uma abordagem sociológica por meio de conceitos de Bourdieu, cuja concepção de ciência é referência para compreensão das matemáticas como práticas sociais, em que haveria uma lógica da situação que determina normas e formas específicas de fazer matemática.
