“You only really live in the countryside”: ethnographic notes from a survey of children in a rural village in Mozambique

In Mozambique, there are few policies or studies on children in rural areas, in the same way as the images on children and childhood/Mozambique by a positive bias, of everyday life, and participation of the powers. Usually marked by absences and deprivation of rights, studies, researches and policies has been anchored in visions generalists and pre-designed of Mozambican rural childhoods. How to think about all the children and childhoods through a perspective that deals with cultural diversity, differences and possible and existing interfaces in more diverse scenarios Mozambicans? From such questions, this article is the result of an ethnographic experience in a rural community South of Mozambique, the African continent whose goal is to bring to the discussion the relationship of children with the production of culture and knowledge between them and your relationship with the environment in which they live, contextualizing this place, their practices and experiences through field study performed out in the year 2017. Brings to discussion the diversity of childhood and its activities, your connection to the middle and ancestry, in an attempt to broaden the dialogue and perspectives on children in rural areas
