The expansion of higher education in Brazilian Amazon: a comparative study between the FHC government and the petista cycle

Resumo: This article aims to compare the expansion of higher education during the presidential governments of Fernando Henrique Cardoso (1995-1998, 1999-2002) and the petista cycle (2003-2016), especially in the Brazilian Amazon. Therefore, the qualitative / interpretative approach was adopted as methodological procedures, based on reflections presented by scholars of Brazilian education and official data, allowing us to analyze the dynamics of the expansion of this teaching modality in Brazil in the last two decades. The results show that when these presidential cycles are compared, the Brazilian higher education in the quantitative and qualitative aspect, both public and private, the expansion is more evident in the Partido dos Trabalhadores governments.

Con este fin, se adoptó el enfoque cualitativo / interpretativo como procedimientos metodológicos, basados ​​en reflexiones presentadas por académicos de la educación brasileña y datos oficiales, lo que nos permite analizar la dinámica de la expansión de este tipo de enseñanza en Brasil en las últimas dos décadas. Los resultados revelan que, cuando se comparan estos ciclos presidenciales, la educación superior brasileña en el aspecto cuantitativo y cualitativo, tanto público como privado, la expansión es más evidente en los gobiernos del Partido de los Trabajadores.Esse artigo tem por objetivo comparar a expansão do ensino superior durante os governos presidenciais de Fernando Henrique Cardoso (1995-1998, 1999-2002) e o ciclo petista (2003-2016), principalmente na Amazônia brasileira. Para tanto, adotou-se como procedimentos metodológicos a abordagem qualitativa/interpretativista, a partir de reflexões apresentadas por estudiosos da educação brasileira e dados oficiais, permitindo-nos analisar as dinâmicas da expansão dessa modalidade de ensino no Brasil nas duas últimas décadas.
