Resumo: | This work intends to bring up some of the current bio-scientific advances in the construction of narratives and explanations for issues that have traditionally been constituted in the scope of Human Sciences. Thus, it aims to apprehend what is effectively new in its historical-social meanings. To this end, we will focus special attention on the ontological responses that biosciences have been giving to the question “What is man?”. The idea is to present the works Armas, Germs e Aço e Tábula Rasa by Jared Diamond and Steven Pinker, respectively, renowned authors in the field of contemporary Natural Sciences, bearing in mind, among other characteristics, the criticism that they give to two important characteristics of the field of “postmodern” knowledge: its antiontological character and its anti-meta-narrative foundation. The idea defended by us is that the theoretical gap opened during the 70s and 80s by postmodernist discourse was one of those responsible for the dissemination of ontology-bio-science. |

The idea defended by us is that the theoretical gap opened during the 70s and 80s by postmodernist discourse was one of those responsible for the dissemination of ontology-bio-science.
