The winners of Itapuã: an ethnography of an essay at a samba school in the downtown Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro

Resumo: The objective of this article is to analyse the rehearsal of the school of samba Unidos do Viradouro in the Avenue Ernani Amaral Peixoto, situated in Downtown Niteroi, in the Fluminense County of the State of Rio de Janeiro. With the plot called: Viradouro with a light soul (Viradouro with a light-hearted soul), the association was crowned champion at the 2020 carnival at Marques de Sapucaí in a parade that brought the ancestry and strength of black women and former slaves for gain as an identity mark in the cultural formation of Brazil. Athwart an ethnography realised en three rehearsals in the Avenue Ernani Amaral Peixoto in november and december of 2019, i searched to understand how the association took this theme to a public space in the city, also highlighting the afro-religious aspects present in the plot, in a movement that gives visibility to afro-Brazilian religious manifestations.

Con la trama intitulada: Viradouro con el alma lavada, la asociación se proclamó campeona en el carnaval 2020 en el Marqués de Sapucaí en un desfile que trajo la ascendencia y la fuerza de las mujeres negras y ex esclavas como una marca de identidad en la formación cultural de Brasil. A través de una etnografia realizada en tres ensayos en la Avenida Ernani Amaral Peixoto en los meses de noviembre y diciembre de 2019, busqué entender cómo la asociación llevó este tema a un espacio público de la ciudad, destacando también los aspectos afro-religiosos presentes en la trama, en un movimiento que visibiliza manifestaciones de religiones de matriz afro-brasileña.Este artigo tem como objetivo a análise do ensaio da escola de samba Unidos do Viradouro na Avenida Ernani Amaral Peixoto, localizada no centro da cidade de Niterói, município fluminense do estado do Rio de Janeiro. Com um enredo intitulado: Viradouro de Alma Lavada, a agremiação sagrou-se campeã no carnaval de 2020 na Marques de Sapucaí em um desfile que trouxe a ancestralidade e força das mulheres negras e ex-escravas de ganho como uma marca identitária na formação cultural do Brasil.
