The haitian lakou and its practices: between changes and stays

Resumo: Based on the concept of lakou, in rural Haitian contexts, and its characteristics, I will reflect on studies carried out in Haiti in the middle of the 20th century, in search of what was understood as family and home in these works. Bearing in mind the discomfort caused by statements that preached the crisis and the death of the lakou, I will analyze a nomination situation that I followed, revealing practices that remain, even when drastic changes affect people's lives. In a second step, I will focus on issues related to ritual kinship, the ways of organizing work and markets. To think of lakou is, in a way, to take into account the history and transformation processes that Haiti, in its diversity, has gone through and has gone through.

Teniendo en cuenta el malestar que provocan las declaraciones que predicaban la crisis y la muerte del lakou, analizaré una situación de nominación que seguí, revelando prácticas que se mantienen, incluso cuando cambios drásticos afectan la vida de las personas. En un segundo paso, me centraré en cuestiones relacionadas con el parentesco ritual, las formas de organizar el trabajo y los mercados. Pensar en el lakou es, en cierto modo, tener en cuenta la historia y los procesos de transformación por los que Haití, en su diversidad, ha atravesado y atravesado.A partir do conceito de lakou, em contextos rurais haitianos, e de suas características, farei uma reflexão sobre estudos realizados no Haiti em meados do século XX, em busca do que se compreendia como família e casa nesses trabalhos. Tendo em mente o incômodo causado por declarações que pregaram a crise e a morte do lakou, analisarei uma situação de nominação que acompanhei, revelando práticas que permanecem, mesmo quando alterações drásticas acometem a vida das pessoas. Em um segundo momento, deter-me-ei em questões ligadas ao parentesco ritual, às formas de organização do trabalho e dos mercados.
