Resumo: | In the text, I try to make a theoretical exercise around some conceptions about human agency, relating them to the discussion of the relationship between action and structure. For this, I use the scheme that Jeffrey Alexander (1987) traces to understand the movement of sociological theory in this century. In a first moment, I discuss the concepts of Althusser, E. P. Thompson and Giddens to, in a second moment to bring them closer to the conceptions of "lay theorists", using the characters of the films Lawyer of the Devil and Conspiracy Theory. Thus, following the theoretical exercise, I use cinematographic objects as a didactic tool in the understanding and discussion of sociological theories. |

Para ello, utilizo el esquema que traza Jeffrey Alexander (1987) para comprender el movimiento de la teoría sociológica en este siglo. En un primer momento, analizo los conceptos de Althusser, E. P. Thompson y Giddens para, en un segundo momento, acercarlos a las concepciones de los "teóricos laicos", utilizando los personajes de las películas Lawyer of the Devil y Conspiracy Theory. Así, siguiendo el ejercicio teórico, utilizo los objetos cinematográficos como herramienta didáctica en la comprensión y discusión de las teorías sociológicas.No texto, procuro fazer um exercício teórico em torno de algumas concepções sobre agência humana, relacionando-as a discussão da relação entre ação e estrutura. Para isso, utilizo o esquema que Jeffrey Alexander (1987) traça para compreender o movimento da teoria sociológica neste século. Num primeiro momento, discuto as concepções de Althusser, E. P. Thompson e Giddens para, num segundo momento para aproximá-las das concepções de "teóricos leigos", utilizando-me dos personagens dos filmes Advogado do Diabo e Teoria da Conspiração.
