Resumo: From a discursive perspective of the History of Linguistics Ideas, we analyze the ways in which the pronominalization of “a gente” appears as an issue that is elaborated and reworked in different productions by Said Ali. We seek to show in what ways the subject and the language are signified/divided when the author reflects on the pronominalization of “a gente”, at the same time as we seek to observe how he deals with the problem of indetermination and the determination of the pronoun. With these analyses, we were able to weave some reflections on the specific historical conditions of the pronominal functioning of “a gente” in Brazil, articulated to the production of knowledge about this functioning, considering the relations of domination and resistance that constitute our history of colonization and decolonization.
