Resumo: This article aims to analyze the meanings of ‘nordestino’ put into operation by the current President of the Republic, Jair Messias Bolsonaro. To this end, we subscribe ourselves to the theoretical perspective of Discourse Analysis, proposed by Michel Pêcheux and Eni P. Orlandi, as it presents itself as a theoretical-analytical device of interpretation that allows us to understand the relationships between language, society and history and the discursive processes that derive from it. We rely on the notions of production conditions, discursive memory and paraphrase to deal with the processes of meaning that take place in different forms of languages ​​(images, utterances, etc.). Considering our analysis gestures, we understand that a discursive regularity that means Northeastern people as people who 'don't like to work'.

Inscrevemo-nos, para tal, na perspectiva teórica da Análise de Discurso, proposta por Michel Pêcheux e Eni P. Orlandi, pois se apresenta como um dispositivo teórico-analítico de interpretação que permite pensar as relações entre língua, sociedade e história e os processos discursivos que daí derivam. Sustentamo-nos nas noções de condições de produção, memória discursiva e paráfrase para analisar os processos de significação que se dão em diferentes formas de linguagens (imagens, enunciações etc.). A partir de nossos gestos de análise, compreendemos uma regularidade discursiva que significa os nordestinos e as nordestinas como pessoas que ‘não gostam de trabalhar’.Analizamos las acepciones de nordestino puestas en operación por el actual presidente de la República, Jair Messias Bolsonaro. Para eso, nos adherimos a la perspectiva teórica del Análisis del Discurso, propuesta por Michel Pêcheux y Eni P. Orlandi, que se presenta como un dispositivo teórico-analítico de interpretación que permite pensar las relaciones entre lengua, sociedad e historia y los procesos discursivos que de ellas se derivan. Nos apoyamos en las nociones de condiciones de producción, memoria discursiva y paráfrasis para analizar los procesos de significación que se dan en las distintas formas de lenguajes (imágenes, enunciados, etc.).
