Resumo: Learning Management Systems (LMS) are computational systems that offer a wide variety of resources and tools to support teaching. Moodle is the most used LMS worldwide. The wide spread use of LMS and Moodle, calls for special attention regarding their interfaces. Previous works have identified challenges experienced by users in interacting with Moodle ́s interface and help systemThis article presents the process of building a help system for the Moodle platform used at UFMG. The process described is based on a new methodology for building online help systems, grounded on Semiotic Engineering (SemEng), a Human-Computer Interactiontheory.

Dentre eles, destaca-se o Moodle como o mais utilizado em todo o mundo. Apesar da grande difusão de uso dos AVAs e do Moodle, há ainda problemas na interface destes sistemas que prejudicam a interação de seus usuários. Pesquisas realizadas identificaram dificuldades de uso, tanto na interface quanto no sistema de ajuda do Moodle.
