Resumo: In the search of some answers to the stereotype which the Information Sciences professionals faces, the aim of this article is to observe the motives which lead the society to have a wrong concept about Librarianship, Archivology and Museology, joining these distinct areas in the same degree. Using the bibliographic data collected, has made possible to join together relevant opinions, fundamental both to find the necessary alternatives and answer for the stereotyped social perception, reasons of this work. Some changes, even the unwanted ones, are required.
