Resumo: This paper presents a study of Fazenda São Bento's and Engenho Jaguaribe's residents consumption behavior in the 18th - 19th century, located on the northern coast of Pernambuco State. As distincts productives units, farmer and plantation, the consumption behavior of theirs residents in relation to the use of fine earthenware is questioned. Would exist a distict consumption pattern between the residents of Engenho and Fazenda? The hypothesis that the residents would have distinct consumption behavior due the nature of the studied units was raised. This study aimed to identidy the resident's consumption behavior of two productives units, for that, in this research were used, besides the bibliographic and historical research, the Ceramic Dating Formula (South, 1972); Miller's Economic Scale (Miller, 1980) and the Typological Analysis The research demonstrated that both Fazenda São Bento and Engenho Jaguaribe have ceramic considered as low value, Bandedware, followed by fine earthenware Transfer Printing of higher value that demonstrate concern with the daily utensils.
