Special collection of the Escola de Agronomia do Nordeste from the perspective of bibliographic heritage

Resumo: This work aims to discuss the special collection of the Northeast Agronomy School of the Francisco Tancredo Torres Sectorial Library (BSFTT) of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), as a scientific bibliographic heritage. The special collection from the collection of books, documents, leaflets, among others, is understood as products of written and material culture. The research characterizes the works in terms of their physical aspect and the representation of scientific and institutional history/memory. Methodologically, the approach is qualitative with a theoretical-exploratory nature of the documentary type, taking as an analytical corpus the special collection allied to the documentary analysis in theoretical comparison with the concepts of Bibliographic Heritage adopted in this investigation. The result suggests that BSFTT and the Centro de Ciências Agrárias-UFPB recognize the collection as a bibliographic heritage and its need for preservation. La investigación caracteriza las obras en cuanto a su aspecto físico, representación de la historia/memoria científica e institucional. Metodológicamente, el abordaje es cualitativo con carácter teórico-exploratorio de tipo documental, tomando como corpus analítico el acervo especial aliado al análisis documental en comparación teórica con los conceptos de Patrimonio Bibliográfico adoptados en esta investigación. El resultado sugiere que la BSFTT y el Centro de Ciências Agrárias-UFPB reconozcan la colección como patrimonio bibliográfico y su necesidad de preservación. Palabras clave: Colección especial. Metodologicamente, a abordagem é qualitativa de cunho teórico-exploratório do tipo documental, tomando como corpus analítico o acervo especial aliado à análise documental em cotejamento teórico com as concepções de Patrimônio Bibliográfico adotadas nesta investigação.
