Resumo: The paper aims to contribute to the empirical study of the insertion segments of Brazilian industry into CGVs, focusing on the vertical specialization trade of the electro-electronic and mechanical metal complexes in the years 2000, 2005 and 2009. The analysis was conducted by the specialized vertical methodology proposed by Hummels et al (2001). The results showed that the insertion of these complexes into CGVs declined over the 2000s. The greater internationalization of production, from the commercial opening, did not guarantee the integration of these complexes in CGVs in a more dynamic and competitive way in the relevant sectors from the industrial point of view.
