Resumo: Cerebral Palsy is classified as a multifactorial case, which can be caused by prematurity, intrauterine disorders, neonatal encephalopathy and kernicterus. Faced with the child's cerebral palsy diagnosis, the mother faces denial, which often leads to underestimating the child's situation, imposing barriers to care. The study aimed to understand the maternal experiences regarding the care of the child diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. This is an integrative literature review, using the terms child care, cerebral palsy and mother-child relationship, with the search for publications in the Virtual Health Library and Google Scholar databases, with 11 articles selected. were organized in a table for later discussion of the results. In view of the results, the data were organized into four categories: maternal burden and support networks; difficulties in the face of maternal care; routine of care for the child, and; maternal feelings and psychological factors. It was observed that maternal experiences are multiple, directly interfering in the mother's routine, causing her to undergo significant changes, giving a new meaning to her life.

Diante do diagnóstico de paralisia cerebral do filho, a mãe enfrenta a negação, que muitas vezes a leva a menosprezar a situação do filho, impondo barreiras para o cuidado. O estudo teve como objetivo compreender as experiências maternas frente ao cuidado do filho diagnosticado com Paralisia Cerebral. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, em que foram utilizados os termos “cuidado da criança”, “paralisia cerebral” e “relação mãe-filho”, para uma busca das publicações nas bases de dados da Biblioteca Virtual da Saúde e Google Acadêmico, sendo selecionados 11 artigos, que foram organizados em uma tabela para posterior discussão dos resultados. Diante dos resultados, os dados foram organizados em quatro categorias: sobrecarga materna e redes de apoio; dificuldades diante do cuidado maternal; rotina de cuidados para com o filho e sentimentos maternos e fatores psicológicos.
