The interest in this research arised from the contact with the subject called “Theories of Journalism”, which has made evident the seriousness expected from a professional journalist in the exercise of profession, not only inspecting the public order but also the conduct of a society. In this sense, a research about Fake News was carried out in order to think over the way false information intervene in the society day by day. This paper is based on the responsibility and on the ethics of journalism, and it presents some Fake News created by individuals from diverse ambits of society. For this purpose, it brings a theoretical introduction about Fake News aiming at explaining its definition and possible consequences, through the analysis of cases and situations in which disinformation was used, besides emphasizing the importance of checking data and/or messages by means of demonstrations related to the damage caused by them. Bibliographical research method was used to analyze the subjects related to the theme, all collected from books, articles and other online materials.Thus, it was ascertained that there is a constant need to highlight the importance of notsharing any material or notes that have not been previously checked, in order to avoid thedissemination of false information. Moreover, the research evidenced the relevance ofevoking the interest of society in practicing good communication –based on legitimate facts–encouraging the public to consume news from credible institutions with good reputation,what develops the means for identifying and refuting Fake News and, consequently, promotes the sharing of relevant true contents.
