Resumo: The Pregnancy is a delicate period, of great joy and emotion for the woman, however it is characterized by several physiological changes in her body, addition to changes in the oral cavity. Health professionals must be prepared and attentive to these changes, ensuring safe care for these patients. The aim of this study was to conduct a literature review highlighting special care and the most common clinical situations during pregnancy, in addition to the medications used. To this end, a literature review was carried out in electronic databases such as: Scielo, Ebsco Platform, virtual libraries and pages of the world health organization and the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa). We conclude that it is common for pregnant women to present oral alterations, thus, the dental surgeon needs to know properly the classification of medications according to their degree of teratogenicity, so that he can meet them safely in this very special period.

Os profissionais da saúde devem estar preparados e atentos para essas modificações, garantindo segurança no atendimento a essas pacientes. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar uma revisão da literatura destacando os cuidados especiais e as situações clínicas mais comuns durante a gestação, além das medicações utilizadas. Para tal, foi efetuada uma revisão da literatura em bases de dados eletrônicos como: Scielo, Plataforma Ebsco, bibliotecas virtuais e páginas da organização mundial da saúde e Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa).
