Resumo: The construction industry is one of the most important sectors for the country economic growth. Taking into consideration how big, impactful and competitive the construction is in Brazil, It’s premordial the use of planning methods so the company stay in the market with differentials. Due to all the variables and specificity of each construction project, It’s necessary to have total control over the construction company accounts and even more on the purchase department. In view of the above, it was made an improvement planning for the purchase department of a construction company located in Maringá city, utilizing a project management planning model based on the PMBOK Guide. The purchase department project management started with the project opening forms and the identification of the stakeholders, next, it was made the management according to the knowledge areas, setting the limits and necessities of the following knowledge areas: scope, time, cost, quality and human resource. After planning, it was executed and monitored the documented activities, and lastly it was closed the project management and the execution analysis. In conclusion, the participation of every company sector was essencial for the development of the final solutions on the improvement of the purchase department. Taking into consideration the limitations of other sectors it was possible to make the necessary changes without influencing other important areas to the company (construction work execution, interior design and the relationship with the master builder). This demonstrates the importance of using a proper methodology in your company for a good planning operation.

Atentando para o quão grande, impactante e concorrido é a construção civil no Brasil, se vê necessário a utilização de métodos de planejamento para que a empresa tenha diferencial para permanecer no mercado. Devido às grandes variáveis e especificidade de cada projeto de construção, é necessário ter total controle sobre as contas da construtora, principalmente do setor de compras. Considerando o exposto, foi realizado um planejamento de melhoramento do setor de compras de uma construtora situada na cidade de Maringá-PR, adotando um modelo de planejamento de gestão de projetos baseado no Guia PMBOK. O gerenciamento de projetos para o setor de compras foi inicializado com o termo de abertura do projeto e a identificação das partes interessadas, em seguida foi realizado o planejamento de acordo com as áreas do conhecimento utilizadas nesse projeto, determinando os limites e necessidades das seguintes áreas de conhecimento que foram utilizadas: escopo, cronograma, custo, qualidade e recursos. Após o planejamento foi realizado a execução e o monitoramento das atividades que foram documentadas, e por último foi feito o encerramento do gerenciamento de projetos e análise da execução. Foi concluído que a participação de todos os setores da empresa sendo importante para o desenvolvimento das soluções finais para o melhoramento do setor de compras. Considerando as limitações dos outros setores, foi possível realizar as mudanças necessárias sem afetar outras áreas importantes para a empresa (execução de obra e projeto de interiores, bem como, a relação com os mestres de obras).
