Resumo: The Obesity has been causing problems in worldwide level and increasing risks with serious diseases. Most of the patients looking for life-changing treatments, usually have disorder, depression, anxiety and eating disorders. This study was developed through bibliographic research, original articles, and review that related with the practice of restrictive diets and the development of binge eating disorder. It is extremely important to clarify the harmful effects of poorly oriented restrictive diets, or without the proper monitoring of a nutritionist. BED has multifactorial causes, with food restriction being another risk factor for changes in eating behavior. Although some studies have shown this relationship, it is important to understand that there is still no evidence of a direct relationship between restrictive diets and the development of BED, therefore, there is a need for further studies.

A maioria dos pacientes que buscam por tratamentos para mudança de vida, normalmente apresentam algum tipo de transtorno ou distúrbio, sendo depressão, ansiedade e transtornos alimentares. Este estudo foi desenvolvido por pesquisas bibliográficas e artigos originais e de revisão que relacionaram a prática de dietas restritivas e o desenvolvimento de transtorno de compulsão alimentar periódica. É de extrema importância esclarecer os malefícios de dietas restritivas mal orientadas, ou sem o devido acompanhamento de um nutricionista. O TCAP tem causas multifatoriais, sendo a restrição alimentar mais um fator de risco para alterações no comportamento alimentar.
